rss is great. you’re a ybp, you should enjoy it as well (if you’re not already).
rss stands for really simple syndicate. it basically allows you to subscribe to news site, blogs, and any other site that has constant updates to its content. instead of having to go to the site and click refresh to see the new stuff, you can subcribe to that site’s rss feed to see the headlines and browse the stories you want to read. best of all, if you followed my advice on switching to mozilla, its built-in!
the first thing to look for is to make sure the sites you subscribe to use rss. in mozilla, look for the rss icon in the upper right-hand corner in the address bar. once you click that, mozilla will prompt you on where to save the feed (pic 1).
you can either create a folder called ‘feeds’ to keep all of your rss feeds, or you can put in the bookmark toolbar folder and it will automatically appear in the toolbar (pic 2). the toolbar function is pretty cool because when you click it, it automatically shows you all of the stories.
pretty cool, eh?

5 Feeds You Should Be Reading Everyday | Young Black Professional Guide
[...] One of the most effective ways of tapping into this content is a topic I touched back on awhile ago called real simple syndication, or rss. If you’re new to the concept and have seen a little (sometimes) orange icon on other websites, their premise is very simple…as the name would indicate. RSS is like a virtual magazine subscription. Just like you would sign-up to receive Vibe delivered to your residence when a new issue is published, subscribing to a site’s RSS feed delivers that site’s content in the same way, but through your computer. If ybpguide writes 4 articles in one day, our rss feed will be updated and your feed reader will receive our stories. A short post about how to setup the Firefox browser as a feed reader is here.
