Recently, Judge Mathis wrote a commentary about the major medicare changes that will go into effect January 1 and I figured I’d pass the word along to you YBPs so you can spread the word to your loved ones.
In just a few weeks, thousands of elderly Medicare beneficiaries may enter their neighborhood pharmacy, looking to fill a prescription, unaware that their prescription drug benefits may have changed. This lack of knowledge could mean that necessary and often life-saving medications won’t get into the hands of one of this country’s most vulnerable populations. As January 1 approaches, communities have to work together to make sure our elderly understand just what these changes mean for them.
In 2007, many of Medicare’s prescription drug plans will change their benefits. Some beneficiaries will find they can no longer use their preferred pharmacy. Others may find their drugs are no longer covered by their current plan. And some will learn that the costs of their drugs have increased significantly.
