A few months ago Ashley wrote a great post on “Where Do You Get Your News From?” Just to piggy back off of the many useful sites and resources she listed, I’d like to add a few more websites directed towards informing YBPs.

BlackAmericaWeb.com- I personally love Tom Joyner and his website is a great all around resource. In addition to commentaries and headlines, you can also find information on health, career, finances, and fun. You can also listen live to the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

BlackEnterprise.com- In addition to the wonderful resource that is Black Enterprise magazine, the website has so much to offer. They have a franchise finder for entrepreneurs looking for the right opportunity and job positings for those looking for employment. Black Enterprise is also to be commended for their television serious “Our World” on TV1. Highlights of the show can also be viewed on the website.

AOL Black Voices- This AOL Channel is actually very clean and easy to read. It lists top threads, top news, and top entertainment daily. I appreciate the “Black History Month” section that reflects on Black History, especially since so many Black leaders and websites practically denounce Black History Month.

TheBlackReport.com- This site compiles many of the day’s Black news headlines in one list. Just click on the headline and you are redirected to the news site. Very simple and easy to navigate.

PositiveBlackImage.com- While not the most attractive site, PositiveBlackImage.com also compiles many Black news headlines. But what I like about this site is that they give readers the opportunity to submit the profile of any African-American who deserves attention for their community efforts. Thus, this site gives you news on the people who probably are not being written about on major news websites.

So these are a few sites I visit from time to time to see what’s going on in Black America, but remember that YBP Guide is the guide for Young Black Professionals!
