right on the heels of ybp’s getting graduate degrees, i wanted to spread the good news. it seems like the world can be so negative and bleak. we all have to remember that our attitude and disposition is what we make it, what we choose to see. i choose to see jeffrey lynn hall, jr.

a three-sport athlete, captain in the rotc, and almost perfect gpa senior, mr. hall did something no student in the st. louis public school system has done in the last 39 years.

mr. hall was accepted to harvard.

hard work. determination. keeping faith.

those were the things instilled into him by his mother and grandfather. it’s very inspiring to see proof that a solid family structure fortifies our community and up-and-coming talented tenth.

i just wanted to shout my mans out and urge him to “keep keepin’ on” towards the ybp path of success.

mr. hall was also accepted into washington university (my alma mater) and states that he has a tough decision ahead of him.

    This is great to see and should be a inspirational story that any young person not just Black can benefit from. Talk about keeping youself busy. Tri athelete in the ROTC with a gpa higher then people who do not participate in any sports. He sould also add no excuses to that list of things he live by.
    I think your alma mater will fill bilge to have Mr. Hall ,but how can you turn down Harvard?

    Also feeling pressure from colleagues that my 13 month old twins need to be gearing for a top notch preschool!

    Fredric, I didn’t know you were a Wash U grad. My mother got her music masters from there years ago long before they closed the music department.

    I’m proud of my young homeboy writing his own ticket to campuses of his choice. Let’s hear it for us St. Louis public school grads! Nah, that’s just good parenting from his mother.
