if you have (or haven’t) noticed, we did a few upgrades to the website to not only enhance security and usability, but also to reap a little more benefit from all of our readers and visitors.

we did upgrade to wordpress 2.2 ultimately improving security and simplifying a few of the features currently available, like recent comments, recent entries, etc. we’ll also be including a few new features soon including showcasing our top commenters and incorporating digg into each post a little more.

the biggest visual change is the inclusion of a new advertising partner, chitika. they are different than most ads you see on blogs because you’re able to search and shop directly on the page you’re looking at without navigating away. an added bonus for publishers is the ability to pick the categories of products to showcase.

here at the guide, you can see we have mp3 players in the top banner with blurbs from cnet (a tech site i trust), some cool digital cameras just above the first post on the title page, and some nice health and body products on the sidebar.
