“143″ edition: tech news 6/13
143. 143. 143.
if you’re not a cool kid and have no idea what i’m saying, then you just might be getting old and officially behind the times. i’ve recently learned that the cingular commercial with the little girl talking to her mom in a language similar to how she texts her friends is actually real! 143 is the shortened version of ‘i love you’ and is, for some reason, a new hit with the kiddies.
it also could just be that i’m really old and 143 is actually a throwback to 1999. either way, on to the news…
have you gotten a message from the honesty box yet? maybe it was a ‘143′. well, i’ve answered the first question of ‘wtf is 143′. so, what is the honesty box?
if you haven’t logged onto to facebook in awhile, you’re missing out on their rollout of independent developer applications. not only has ‘johnny codes-a-lot’ created a cool little app for people to anonymously send you ‘truths’ about yourself on facebook, it has also garnered new fanfare from its members. now, ’sally has-a-crush-on-you’ can anonymously hit you up so that stalkbook facebook feels even more….stalkerific. (via techcrunch)
while it hasn’t hit the presses in full force, if you’ve shopped for a high definition tv recently, you’ve noticed that prices have been plummeting. yours truly is in the market and i found some crazy deals by using the ad box at the top of the ybpguide!

if you haven’t tried it out, the box above actually lets you search, read reviews, and compare prices on all electronics, including hdtv’s, without leaving the ybpguide page! between the search above, crawling newegg.com, and comparing prices on google products page, you can get a nice 40 inch lcd for under a grand. as always, however, check out the reviews of the tv before making that final confirmation click!
