How Old Are YOU?
Earlier this week I took a “Real Age” test on the RealAge.com website and found out my Real Age was 27.5. I am 27 in actuality, however I was 23.5 when I first took the test (I had left out some important information and after entering additional info it came back four years older). 27.5 is fine, but the high I got when I thought I was 23.5 was better.
This site comes to us from Drs. Roizen and Oz (Oprah’s faves), authors of YOU: the Owner’s Manual. It’s free and for the YBP (with emphasis on the “B”) I think the earlier we start considering what effect our habits are having on our bodies the better. Quantifying our health in terms of age helps paint a very real picture of the importance of watching our diets, exercise habits, stress levels and overall enjoyment of life. If that does not do it for you, maybe the cosmetic aspect will get you. My new goal is to get that “Real Age” of 23.5 again. I might start telling people that’s how old I am, too. It’s not really a lie then, right?
Sure it does not turn back any real clock, nor can an online test unequivocally assess your medical and nutrition needs, but after you take the test you get an immediate list of your strengths and weaknesses based on the information you entered. If you have had a Doctor’s visit recently and know your blood pressure, pulse rate, cholesterol, and the like, you can get an extremely accurate reading and probably complete your test in no more than 10 minutes. Even without that info you can get a pretty decent result. Either way, do it for yourself. Give yourself a little more boost and encouragement to keep being the ridiculous YBP success you already are!
