“nominate us for a black blog award” edition : tech news 8/15
did you miss the techy goodness last week?
be sure to nominate your people here at ybpguide for a black blog award! the deadline is TODAY at 4pm EST. as authors, we’re not allowed to nominate ourselves, so it’s up to our readers! only takes a few seconds.

on to the news…
rumors are that google may release their own phone, hot on the heels of the iphone. it may even be called the gphone (real original). the internet has been swirling with artist renditions of what it may look like. this may be a good sign as it fits inline with their recent bid on the upcoming availability of the 700mHz spectrum that i talked about in another post. just in case you missed the awesomeness that was the transformers movie, variety magazine is reporting that a green-light has been given to create a movie based on the 80’s classic voltron. yep, you heard that right. voltron will be re-awakened in all the 21st century computer generated imagery (cgi) glory! the transformers movie took a few years to perfect and create (they used real, lifesize animatronics in some of the scenes). it may be awhile before this movie actually hits the screens, but the article states that plans have been working themselves out for the past three years. all that means is that the previews will probably be shown next week with a release date of 2010. also highlighted in the article is a possibility of a he-man movie.
