i’ve heard from a couple of bloggers and friends that tomorrow is the official ‘protest’ day for what happened in jena 6. despite the fact that most of the fight is over (sentences were overturned, etc.), a rally is planned and many are talking about wearing all black.
more about it over at electronic village.

shouts to my boy and co-worker anthony who did wear black today. i had to go shake his hand…
no, i did not wear black today. i guess i’ll have to just keep my ear to the ground and pray for everyone to show my support.

I also did not wear black but I support all of those who did. We must remember that demonstrating and advocating can give a voice to the unheard and forgotten. It is truly a tragedy that the Jena 6 incident is still happening today. Racism definitely is not dead. But my question to all YBP’s: Are demonstrations enough? What more can we do to show our support and help the cause?

I rocked the all black suit, with the all black shirt and tie. I thought about wearing my black leather gloves also, but its still kinda warm out!

Honestly, I couldn’t believe your message, it’s not over by any means, and I may be wrong, but I read a cavalier attitude between the lines, and how unfortunate if it’s true because it could easily be you
