This is NOT the time …

Young Black Professional Guide This is NOT the time …I know we don’t know much about Friday’s shooting at Delaware State University at this point, but I DO know that this is NOT the time to launch some Stop Snitching campaign.

Two students were shot and wounded Friday at the historically black DSU. Campus was appropriately locked down as police searched for a gunman.

But the male student, who was shot in the ankle, refused to answer questions by police about the shootings, according to the Associated Press. As expected, this makes investigators believe that he knew his attacker(s).

The other victim was shot in the stomach and is in the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

It’s too early to say much. But with one person fighting to live and the entire country’s campus safety concerns in a frenzy after the Virginia Tech massacre last spring and a murder at the University of Arizona earlier this month, this is NOT the time to be silent.

  1. I agree that this is not the time for “No Snitching” ; however, it’s sad that one has to feel not encourage to get involve with the police because of bad practices by the police. Of all the professions that exist , policemen are probably the least educated, yet given the most power to abuse. I know this is not true of every policeman or law enforcer, but unfortunately, in a lot of cases and depending where you live—the policemen is the biggest threat to your life if you aren’t WHITE.
