My Holiday Playlist

Alright, to continue with that holiday party planning, you are going to need a holiday party playlist. xmas-music.jpg

You can put one together for the get together, give a HOT Christmas mix as a gift, or just to play at the house on Christmas. Here are some suggestions. (WARNING: although I do have the largest Christmas CD collection of anyone I know, this is not a definitive list. It does not purport to confer greatness or mastery to any of the titles or artists. Just some jams from some jammin’ people. And, I didn’t necessarily include all the standards, cause it’s good to change it up sometimes). My Ultimate Playlist:

  1. This is Christmas - Luther Vandross
  2. Jesus, Born On This Day - Mariah Carey
  3. Breath of Heaven - Oleta Adams
  4. Born This Day - Yolanda Adams
  5. Soulful Christmas - Faith Evans
  6. O Come All Ye Faithful - Celine Dion
  7. Have Yourself A Merry Christmas - En Vogue (set to the music of “Giving Him Something He Can Feel”)
  8. Jesus, Oh What A Wonderful Child - Mariah Carey
  9. There’s Still My Joy - Oleta Adams
  10. Oiche Chiuin (Silent Night) - Enya
  11. Winter Paradise - Destiny’s Child
  12. Oh Holy Night - Point of Grace
  13. Merry Christmas, Baby - Christina Aguilera
  14. Santa Please - Toni Braxton
  15. Now Behold the Lamb - Kirk Franklin
  16. Mistletoe Jam - Luther Vandross
  17. Spread a Little Love on Christmas Day - Destiny’s Child
  18. All I Want for Christmas (So So Def Remix) - Mariah Carey
  19. What Child is This - Operatica O
  20. The Day that Love Began - Faith Evans
  21. Hey Santa - Ashanti
  22. Santa Baby - Madonna
  23. These are the Special Times - Christina Aguilera
  24. Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus - Mormon Tabernacle Choir

  1. I have to add two of my favorites to your playlist because for me…Christmas just would not be the same without them. The first, my favorite pity party wallow in defeat Christmas jam…What Do the Lonely Do At Christmas. And finally…a James Brown classic, Santa Claus Go Straight to the Ghetto. YAY!

  2. Hold up, wait a minute. Ya gotta have “This Christmas” by Donnie Hathaway and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” by The Temptations.
