Holiday Movie Recommendations…oh yeah, and Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas African American..and Happy Kwanzaa.

Just to give you one last list for this holiday season, I wanted to share my all-time favorite Christmas movies. Usually this time off gives you a chance to relax and catch up on some good flicks.

My holiday recommendations:

  1. It’s a Wonderful Life
  2. A Charlie Brown Christmas
  3. A Christmas Story
  4. Christmas Vacation

If you get a chance, also check out these non-holiday movies. They are EXCELLENT!

  1. Bobby - the story of Robert Kennedy (very powerful and reminds me of Obama’s crusade)
  2. City of God - indy film about the slums of Brazil
  3. Babel - a worldwide version of Crash
  4. The Human Stain - great film about a fair-skinned black man who tries to pass as white

Enjoy the holidays everyone. Be safe and give thanks for all the blessings bestowed upon you this year.

Thanks again to all of our readers who have made 2007 great. See you in 2008!

  1. I just watched Babel last night and let me tell you it was very moving. I wouldn’t say it was “The worldwide”version of Crash for I think Crash was a bit more well thought out and more intricately interwoven then Babel. It was a good movie and I did drink in every single nuance the writers and directors had to offer all the way down to idea that language itself is one of our biggest barriers even if we speak the same lingo. The other’s I will definitely check out but thank you for the Christmas/ Kwanzaa wishes and thanks again for the recommendations.
