Resolutions Revisited: 6 tips
A year ago on ybpguide, we posted a great article about a free service that helps you achieve your New Year’s resolutions. Sometimes, it’s better to have a little help and make a little progress, then be alone and make none.
Many of us make New Year’s resolutions, but unfortunately a huge number break them within the first week. Before you even get to this stage, you need to simplify your goals. Most of us have more than one thing that we’d like to change about ourselves, but trying to achieve too many things at once is a recipe for failure. You may want to improve many things but tackling one at a time could make all the difference.
Change One Thing is a free program to help people write down, plan, and commit to their goals. To help you get the most from your efforts they encourage you to:
- Challenge yourself - Aim higher when you set your goals to keep yourself motivated
- Think long term - This is potentially a plan for life – so make the most of this opportunity to use your planning skills to the max.
- Have fun - It’s still important to reward yourself regularly. Have fun and treat yourself for doing so well.
- Arm yourself with knowledge - Read books and magazines, ask friends and search the internet to find ideas, products and organisations to help you.
