YBP Giveaway

Bill Cosby Come on PeopleIt’s always better to give, than receive. Oprah has always believed that and Drew Barrymore recently got on board. Here at ybpguide, we’ve always advocated helping others in need. After all, what good is a blessing if you can’t share them with those less fortunate.

With that said, we’re giving away 10 free copies of Bill Cosby’s book Come on People: On the Path from Victims to Victors.

In order to qualify, there are three easy steps:

  1. Find a non-profit and donate to it. (No minimum) Not sure? Give to a food bank.
  2. Email the receipt to ybpguide {at} gmail {dot} com with your name.
  3. Leave a comment on this post sharing with our readers why you gave.

That’s it! We will pick the winners from the commenters. You can comment as many times as you like, but only once per day. However, with each donation, you can leave an additional comment within the same day. For example, if you send in two receipts, you can leave two comments per day until the end of the contest. We will pick the winners on March 14th!

  1. Who I gave to: breastcancercampaign.org
Reason why I gave: I used to work in a secondary school in London, UK where once a year, around October, there would be a charity event called “pink day for breast cancer awareness”where students and teachers would dress up in something pink, and give money/get sponsored for it. October 2006, I dressed up in a pink panther suit, and managed to raise about £150, (roughly $300). I really enjoyed it. Well, I miss teaching in London, and I missed pink Day in 2007, but thought your offer was a good excuse to give anyway.

  2. Who I Gave To:
    United Way

    Reason Why I Gave:
I donate to the United Way every pay period and have directed my donations to youth programs. I choose to do so because the United Way allocates funds to many of the youth programs/activities I was involved with growing up in Boston, such as the Boys & Girls Clubs. Now that I am YBP, I feel it imperative to give back financially.
