As I’m sure will be the story for quite some time, it is breaking news that Barack Obama has secured enough delegate votes to become the first ever Black Democratic presidential nominee. Sen Clinton has also told lawmakers that she would consider being his Vice President.
Despite the rhetoric, slip-ups, controversies, anger, hate, racism, bigotry, naysayers, and fear, I, for one, think it would be a great thing. History will judge us on how well we were able to get over our differences and lead this country into a bold, new frontier. All of the pundits will seem trivial in the eye of history, but the leadership, tenacity, and fortitude these two have will last FOREVER.
For those interested, here is a brief recap of some our previous political posts, from when I first heard he was going to run, to my friendly debate with a colleague, to the picture of Michelle holding him strongly.
What a day to be alive!

I just can’t believe it yet. I have to see ever news station actually announce it. I have to see the results of the primary today. I got my hopes up so much before, I have to be absolutely certain that this is for real. I feel like crying right now I’m going to be so happy tonight I want to buy a cake to celebrate!!!!

Yeah, I definitely feel the same way, but you can’t argue with the math!
Man, I hope I don’t tear up too much. I am big family and history guy, and I tend to get a little heavy-hearted when I juxtapose the atrocities done to our people and this historical day, and the blessing it is to be alive to see it.

Okay its actually happened!!!! I still don’t think its sunk in yet. I did buy myself some chocolate and chips to celebrate. Hillary’s speech was awful and i can’t believe the nerve of her! Obama’s speech was AMAZING!!!! He is so presidential already. People all over the world are cheering for him. I have so much admiration for him I truly love that man. Hillary’s behaviour dampened things though because there’s still a chance she will cause problems. I just want her to go away!

Horay Horay Horay, it is a great day. The bar has risen, we all must be up for rasing the expectation for our own personal bar, I know you are up for it. Barack has set a fine example, maybe young school black boys, will now think it is cool to learn. I hope so.

It’s funny that you say that. With the way Hip-Hop is going, being nerdy and smart is trending towards being cool…especially with the new acts.
