By now, you’ve heard that Apple decided to part the proverbial hardware Red Sea with its new, updated version of its famed iPhone. Readers of this blog may also know that I am an Apple hater. My first and only third-generation iPod pissed me off because of its expensive price tag and lack of quality.
As I read more and more about Apple products, I saw reliability issues, compatability issues, and more and more fanboys clamor over the next slick device. Well, after owning a Mac Mini (for my web design business) and working on my MacBook Pro (for my 8 to 5), this new iPhone may just make me an Apple fanboy. Abso-frickin great, another obsession that is going to make me broke.
I won’t bore you with too many details, but the updates to this version are substantial: $199 price point (w/ new 2-year AT&T contract), Microsoft Exchange compatability (for your work email), faster browsing (3G network), and GPS.
Crave (via cnet) has a 5-minute wrap-up of all of the coverage. Enjoy!
Editor’s Note: Look for posts / pictures of me waiting in line for the device and clamoring how great it is in or around July 11th.
