Please join me in welcoming Gregory Robert Mitchell, one of the newest YBP’s and the baby boy of our dear editors Kimberly Michelle and Fredric.
I’m so tempted to coin them the latest example of the American Dream brought to fruition. But, I don’t believe in the American Dream. I do believe in Kim and Fred. I do believe in each one of us. I don’t want to limit us to a certain number of houses, cars, children and portfolios. Because our possibilities, our depths are bigger and deeper than that.
Kim and Fredric are the consummate professionals, wonderful friends, and creators and they have worked hard to build a family and a future. My bet, though, is they still dream. My bet is they still are asking questions. What’s next? When are we going to sleep again? How much is college going to be in 18 years?
To me the American Dream simply doesn’t say enough and makes false promises and suggestions about success and happiness. When we look on those who have “it” we sometimes stop wondering. Wrap them up in the “success story” box, without a sense of the passion, nuance and humanity of the individuals.
Well, these are two individuals I am proud to know as friends and bloggers, as achievers and dreamers, as divine brother and sister. And that makes me excited for Gregory. That makes me excited for their families. It makes me excited for all of us, because two wonderful people have brought a little more light and a little more hope into the world. And, we’ll be all be the better for it!

Wonderful entry. I happen to be familiar with a profession that is regarded very highly, but if people knew more about some of the people in the profession, the high regard would dissipate, quickly.
I person who has a lot may be a dog, walking on two legs. Yes, they may know how to “play the game”, and be “professional” (whatever that means).
Additionally, I don’t believe in the “American dream”, either. Sometimes, who makes it where depends upon who one knows, meets, or how LUCKY a person gets. I happen to fall into that last category.
Keep up the great work!
