Day of Blogging Justice: I Am a Community Organizer
God truly works in mysterious ways.
Just last week, I had unabashedly wrote a post exhibiting my perturbation regarding the smugness of the recent GOP speeches from our hard-working community organizers. While our good friend Yobachi rightfully corrected my definition of the phrase, the post was not to simplify the hard work that involves real community organizing events, but more a recognition of such things.
In church, our pastor talked about a very important verse that seemed to resolve the emotions I was feeling at the time:
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. - Romans 13:8
The spirit and essence of that love for mankind is truly what volunteering and organizing a community to volunteer is all about.
While we try hard here at YBP Guide to keep you abreast of a lot of different topics, I’ve always felt that our little community has been able to do big things in the world, most times individually, but never unnoticed.
It is in that accord that I trumpet the members of the Afrospear and Afrosphere for taking my little post and rallying other blogs to pursue a day of blogging justice and awareness for all of the hard-working community organizers out there. Blogs like Electronic Village, a Slant Truth, Sojourner’s Place, Field Negro, African American Political Pundit, and Dallas South Blog (full list over at EV) have decided to display our little widget proudly.
To that notion, I salute them….and perhaps this little piece of symbolism and solidarity will make a larger impact in the campaign.

I am NOT a community organizer, but you’ve inspired me to blog about community work and the spirit of hope! Daughtry’s message of hope This video shows images of hope and help. Remember: Sara Palin is in the minority, a vocal one with a big stage, but she really doesn’t get it.

Great blog and a fantastic move for a “Day of Blogging for Justice: Community Organizers”. Shame on Palin and Giulliani for dumping on such an American as apple pie tradition! Community Organizers have been at the leading edge for change and justice in this country.
However, I think this issue deserves more than a single day, this movement should continue up to 12:00 midnight November 4th, voting day. We should all participate, however, I think all Comunity Organizers who want change and justice in America should lead the effort, with the result in mind of the defeat of anti Community Organizers McCain/Palin and the victorious election of Barack Obama to the Presidency of the US! The Community Organizers should eorganize (eorganize=Community Organizers organizing an effort of the online community) all Community Organizer organizations for a concerted effort to show their effectiveness as a force for change in America. This is their call to action and their time to get the national and international recognition they deserve.
It is extremely important that Community Organizers combine their efforts (independent of race or religion) for the next two months and demonstrate their effectiveness and importance in the American Community by playing a pivotal role in defeating the party of McCain/Palin (which belittled and insulted them) and elect Barack Obama (Biden) President of the United States of America.
