…that is the question.
Personally, I’ve been looking at upgrading my family room television for awhile. While the phrase ‘with the current economy’ is getting used a lot, I may hold off as this year’s prices will probably go the way of gas. Spending reports will probably be lower than expected and major retailers will have to make insane deals if they don’t want to lose too much money on inventory.
But then again…
…we did talk about the consumerism of American culture and its manifestation of Black Friday and Cyber Monday awhile back. Some quotes from our previous two Black Friday posts:
For all those that actually enjoy standing in long lines in the rain and cold, pushing pass your fellow man, stomping on the innocent children, and grabbing at anything that looks like it has an ‘unreasonable’ price, I say: GOOD LUCK TO YOU

Yep, we’ll just skip right past Thanksgiving, its spiritual meaning and reflective nature, and go straight to the consumer-driven money machine that is the pandemonium of 5am deals on crap. While yours truly won’t be standing in-line or clamoring over helpless children to snag a $300 laptop, I wish all of you the best of luck.

I ask that you keep in mind your fellow man this holiday season, especially those who are less fortunate. I challenge every YBP to donate at least 10% of what they plan to spend, as the economic crisis hits harder to those who can’t afford to bear the brunt of any storm.
In addition to our reflections, however, are the massive links I provide each year for you to find the best deal. Before we get to those, the folks over at Unclutterer.com have some great tips if you decide to venture out into the stores:
- Make a list
- Check out all the holiday ads
- Plan your day
- Remember to eat
- Conceal your purchases in your car
- Be sure to have all of your coupons organized and ready
- Clean out your purse and/or wallet the night before
- Be sure your mobile phone is charged.
- Don’t limit your purchases to just Christmas
Got it? Ok, now the giant list of deals I’ve found so far.
- Massive Black Friday Ads List
- Planned Mac Discounts in the Apple Store
- Amazon.com Discounts
- Two Tech DealFinder Websites
- The Walmart Deals
And if that doesn’t suit you, you could always participate in National Buy Nothing Day!

I was a bit dissapointed with Black Friday. Apple didn't reduce their prices much and i was hoping to get an iPod Nano.
