The best website for spa travel according to USA Today and Forbes Magazine is Spafinder. They have just entered the digital world as they have released an iPhone app.

The free iPhone app allows spa-goers to search SpaFinder’s exhaustive database of more than 5,000 day and destination spas around the world by price, deals, treatments, and online booking availability. Each spa in the database includes an overview, treatment menu, and customer reviews. The app currently allows users to instantly book appointments at more than 1,000 spas in the United States. Future versions will allow instant reservations at spas in additional regions worldwide.

Upon opening the app, it immediately gets your location and shows you the closest spa’s to where you are located. You can view them on a map or list form which also shows you how they are rated and what price point they fit in. From there you just pick a Spa and the information flows to you. The first feature I noticed and liked is that you can read the reviews of each spa from within the app and navigate back and forth very quickly. At the bottom of this view you can also sort the spas by the types of treatments they offer, the price point they fit in, and my favorite button which is the “Bookable” sort option. Tap this button and the spas that are near you and allow for you to book from within the app will pop up. I did try to book an appointment at several different spas and they never let me find an available time. Perhaps this is a bug that will be fixed in an upcoming update or perhaps the individual spa’s are not updating their inventory in a timely fashion.

Besides that one small issue, this is a very nice app. The users are even allowed to discover different deals at specific spas which is a money saver and very customer centric. The app is a clean and crisp app that is simple and straightforward. My last step is to book an actual appointment and show up at the door. Facials anyone?? You can download the app in Itunes or by clicking right here. Please let us know your thoughts.

By now, you’ve heard that Apple decided to part the proverbial hardware Red Sea with its new, updated version of its famed iPhone. Readers of this blog may also know that I am an Apple hater. My first and only third-generation iPod pissed me off because of its expensive price tag and lack of quality.

iPhone 3G

As I read more and more about Apple products, I saw reliability issues, compatability issues, and more and more fanboys clamor over the next slick device. Well, after owning a Mac Mini (for my web design business) and working on my MacBook Pro (for my 8 to 5), this new iPhone may just make me an Apple fanboy. Abso-frickin great, another obsession that is going to make me broke. :-)
